It all began with a deal, as is common with the Forge Fathers. They would be allowed to play in the league in exchange for certain mining rights and technical know-how. These days, after years of play and several league victories, it is hard to imagine the leagues without the doughty presence of the father teams, first among whom are the stalwart players of the Midgard Delvers.
The Forge Fathers aren’t the most demonstrative race, though DreadBall has rapidly built a fanatical following in the mining fields of their domains. Forge Fathers are the only race allowed in these teams, and while recruiting can be slow (like most things with these folk), there always seem to be more available when you need them.

The Forge Father team is one of big, slow hitters, and Roberto Cirillo and Mike McVey worked closely together to get a uniformed look across the models whilst still differentiating the various player types:

Striker and Guard concept art – uniformed yet distinct
Ali McVey also kindly painted us this wonderful piece of artwork for the book:

We finish the week off with the brand new Enforcer Captain

The officers of the Enforcers lead from the front. Taking to the field of battle in armour that is heavier than that of their men, they are able to shrug off a laser cannon shot, and their guns are powerful despite their compact nature. Captains are generally observed operating on their own, without support staff, although it is certain that their superior wargear provides them with up-to-the-minute tactical information and communications gear.
We’re really excited to be bringing you such amazing sci-fi models – we think Roberto, Remy, Mike and the whole creative team have done a knock-out job on these models and that they really capture the look and feel of soldiers from the far future.
We’re looking forwards to bringing you the paint jobs that Tommie and the guys from Golem Painting Studio bring to these models and showing off more Enforcer goodness in the future – keep checking back to the blog for more.
The Enforcers are now available to pre-order both as great value army sets and as individual unit, and will be released on the 17th September. More photos will be revealed over the week.

As promised – albeit yesterday – today we’re going to start showing off the sculpts for the Enforcers, starting with this – an Enforcer from the Strike Team!
These photos are straight from Sculptor Remy Trembley’s work bench, taken by Remy himself to show us just how cool these models are looking. The main body was completed and cast in resin, whilst the helmet was added afterwards sculpted in FIMO.

More to follow!

No Enforcer would be seen dead without sporting Warpath’s must have accessory – a dirty great gun! And the Enforcers, with links to the great Forgestars, have some of the most devastating available. Check out these awesome sketches from Roberto Cirillo:

Check back tomorrow where we’ll show you a couple of sculpts!

We think there might be some growing excitement about the Enforcers!
If you want to read more about them and their role in the Warpath universe, then we’ve now added about 6-7 pages of background to our Corporation Hub.
This week is all about showing off what goes into making new units like the Enforcers. So far we’ve hit background and we’ve now got some pretty concepts to start showing off as well.
Whenever we create a brief, Roberto Cirillo often comes up with a couple of different ideas for armour and helmets. For the Enforcers, we choose these:

Clearly we’ve gone for some stark lines (excuse the pun!) and hard edges to make these guys look defined – and this has carried across the weapons and accessories that we’ll show off later in the week!
Let us know what you think in the comments!

It’s been a while since we’ve shown any greens off so let’s kickstart the afternoon (see what we did there?) with some Goblin sculpts!

Mawbeast Pack and Handler

Goblin War-Trombone
Bob popped in yesterday to show these off and we couldn’t resist asking John-luc to do a quick photograph job on them for the blog before they went off for casting, painting and being photographed for the packaging.
Both of these are included in our Elite Goblin Army Set on Kickstarter and also feature in our brand new Goblin army deals alongside the Spitters, Rabble and Sharpsticks – please leave us your comments below!

The Veer-myn models all started life as concept art before they hit Remy’s desk and we’ve posted up a gallery of all of Roberto’s work on the Veer-myn on the website.
