Troops!

So we’ve all seen the beautiful paintjob Andrew Wedmore did on the Berserker Lord by now and, well, he’s got a few new mates to “play” with!

Andrew Wedmore - Berserker Lord

With the last of the core Dwarf plastic sets released last week (culminating in the mighty Dwarf Warhost), we’re looking ahead to September which, alongside the breathtaking new plastic Zombies, see’s the Dwarf King’s Counsel and Dwarf Berserker sets unleashed. Mantic is all about big armies of course so we’ve added two new Troop sets to our website to expand on the Berserker (available to pre-order) and Ironguard (now available to order) sets which lets you add an extra rank of these beautiful sculpts without having to worry about the command bits!

With our trusty journal team in last week and some really cool photography taking place, we couldn’t but help ourselves so got our photographer to take some snaps of these elite metal units. Check out the thumbnails and click to see more!

Berserkers and Ironguard aren’t the only units we’ve had painted and photographed however – wait until you see the Dwarf army for Journal 2!

And don’t forget, those of you who have ordered Grafe’s Steel Legion will get their hands on this figure (and many many more besides) a month before the set is actually released!

You need to hurry though, there are only 10 Grafes Steel Legion Army Deals left!

Don’t miss out!

Painting Glory Part II

Continuing on Friday’s Work In Progress shots, Andrew Wedmore has kindly sent us over some images of the finished thing! Check out below:

And just think, those of you who have ordered Grafe’s Steel Legion will get their hands on this figure (and many many more besides) a month before the set is actually released!

So whilst we’re beating on Andrew’s door to let us know how he’s achieved this amazing look, let us know what you think below.

Painting Glory

We’re still dusting ourselves down at Mantic from the torrent of news that has come out over the last week – it’s very difficult to keep track of what is going on (especially with Ronnie at GenCon already talking about what happens after the game is released!).

Anyway, two things happened last month that may have escaped a few people’s attention. Firstly we’ve recruited a number of people into our Painter’s Circle in anticipation of the second issue of the Mantic Journal, due in September.

Secondly the Dwarf Berserkers and Dwarf King’s War Counsel both went up for pre-order and are released in September (though these sets are also included in Grafe’s Steel Legion launched on the 18th August so you will get these figures super early!).

What better way we thought to illustrate these two points than to show-off the WIP Berserker Lord painted by top-drawer Painter’s Circle member Andrew Wedmore!

mantic dwarf ber wip 1Andrew began painting this the day before his wedding and we think it is looking excellant. We can’t wait to see what Andew and the other guys can produce!

Let us know your thoughts!

Week of the Living Dead – You’re looking a bit pale, are you feeling ok?

The day is finally here, the Undead Zombie Regiment and the Undead Zombie Horde are available for pre-order today!

And to celebrate here is a stunning example of just how good our Zombies look when they are painted… and this is only a three-up!:

Dark Knights

With the Malak’s Legion of Death army deal ending Sunday midnight, we just wanted to show-off the crazy paintjob that Russ has done for our Revenant Knight set (currently on their way to the lads at Beasts of War).

Click on the images below for a more detailed look:

Revenant Knights 1Revenant Knights 2These black knights of darkness not only look extremely powerful, but are also among the best looking figures in the range. It’s very easy to imagine hundreds of these warriors thundering down the flanks of Elven blocks and Dwarf regiments, Skeletons in the front, deathly wraiths supporting nearby as Zombie hordes shamble and Ghoul troops race across the battlefield… an epic battle that would surely deserve a place in history!

We think Russ has done a sterling job (and I’m sure many of you would agree!) and we’re really looking forward to see what he’ll next for us!

As always, drop us a comment below – let us know what you think! Remember, the sun sets of Malak on Sunday – don’t miss it.

Mhorgoth’s Revenge

Following on from yesterday’s Thinking Elves Elf Mantic Point mini, we also had the antagonist of our Mantic Journal painted up – Mhorgoth the Faceless.

What’s better is, Mhorgoth is now available as a single figure on the website!

Previously one of the limited edition 50 point Mantic Point figures, we were sure that you’d all want to get your hands on this spectacular figure once he was revealed as the main badguy of Issue 1 of the Journal, so here he is, painted by David Heathfield:

Mantic Games Mhorgoth the FacelessA new 50 point Mantic Point figure is in the works (in fact there’s 5 metal copies of it on my desk, though one appears to be on it’s way to the painters…), and Mhorgoth will become a new 25 point entry. Additionally, Mhorgoth is available in a number of ways:

- As an individual Metal piece on the website

- Totally free with the Mantic Journal subscription

In addition, there is also a code in the Journal where you can purchase him at half price if you enter it at the checkout.

So what are you waiting for, with all of those Undead and Vampire hordes out on the battlefields demanding an imposing figure like this? Maybe you can find a use for the figure in another army you collect or simply want to paint it up. Add Mhorgoth to your army now, tip your order over the 50 pound/75 euro/99 dollar  mark and you can nab yourself a free bag whilst your at it!

As always, click on the thumbnail for a closer look and let us know what you think!

The Thinking Elves Elf

Mantic Points are being dished out right, left and centre (in fact there’s 16 of those little stickers in the Malak’s Legion of Death and Tydarion’s Dragon host deals! – speaking of which, Revenant Knights are just around the corner!)

With the Mantic Journal now shipping too, and as part of our massive painting splurge,  we had the Mantic Point figures painted up too. Chris Straw had a go at the Elf General and here’s his results – suitably impresseve we think!

Click on the thumbnail for a closer look:

chess_player_1Such a gorgeous sculpt deserved a great paint job and we think Chris nailed it, but why not let us know what you guys think? Drop us a comment below.

Remember also, if you’re gagging for more Mantic Points to get the 10, 25 or 50 rewards, we’re offering a free bag on orders over 50 pounds, 75 euros and 99 dollars, so not only will you get yourself a freebie to store all of your figures in, you’ll also be one step closer to more free miniatures and our limited edition models!
