Ok, so not that great, but after Chris’ thumping at Maelstrom’s fantasy tournament a few months back we thought we’d give him a chance to redeem himself against our new intern, knowing he wouldn’t let us down…

… how wrong we were!

Chris lost his first game of KoW to Josh, Rankings HQ number 1 40K player and generally all-round beardy power gamer.

Wonder how this turned out...

Of course, this doesn’t compare to Ronnie’s epic record of 2 epic losses, but still, it’s character building ain’t it?

After their first taste of the game both guys are now adding new units to their armies – Josh is adding more Revenants to his horde and both players are eagerly looking forward to the new army deals that are being put up on the website at the end of the week. With even greater value and lots of cool stuff in them (including the Zombies!!!), keep your eye of the blog and the newsletter for all the latest goss! With the last of the core Dwarf plastic sets released last week (culminating in the mighty Dwarf Warhost), we’re looking ahead to September which, alongside the breathtaking new plastic Zombies, see’s the Dwarf King’s Counsel and Dwarf Berserker sets unleashed. Mantic is all about big armies of course so we’ve added two new Troop sets to our website to expand on the Berserker (available to pre-order) and Ironguard (now available to order) sets which lets you add an extra rank of these beautiful sculpts without having to worry about the command bits!

With our trusty journal team in last week and some really cool photography taking place, we couldn’t but help ourselves so got our photographer to take some snaps of these elite metal units. Check out the thumbnails and click to see more!

We have shipped all the pre-orders for Grafe’s steel legion, put together Journal number 2, shipped all the orders with the Dwarf releases off to your local game stores, finalised a big part of next years release plan – and we’ll you know, just lots.

However, the 4 days at Gencon we are great chance to reflect on the past 12 months. Last year we went there with one plastic elf scout sprue – this year we were back with three complete armies, weeks away from our game, three paint sets, lots of great people signed up to our news letter and facebook, and with Zombies and the Undead cavalry just down the road.

Mantic products are available in over 30 countries and new ones come on line every day.

None of this would have been possible without all the help from the gaming community spreading the word 9and buying up huge armies!) – for your help over the last year – thank you.

Over the next week we’ll be putting up all the stories from Gencon, and the people we met 9and some we remember from last year!) and our photos – so please keep popping back.
