Royal Guardians

We’ve a new WIP for you – and we know how much you like those!

Today we have a picture of the Palace Guard, with one of it’s weapon variants. These figures have been getting a lot of attention since they were first mentioned, so we’re going to keep this short and sweet and show off this tantalisingly early WIP shot from Kev White.

There are more details to come, but you can click the thumbnail below for a more detailed view.

Oooh nice. How many pieces will it be cast in?

I think I might be getting a few sets of these.

Looks awsome – the closed helm on an Elf is a nice touch you don’t see too often in other ranges. Sets them apart as the heavy mob – looks good :)

I like it. Partly because there’s no eyeballs showing ( my least favourite detail to paint), but mostly I like the pose. I’m hoping the rest of the unit is very similiar, giving them a well disciplined, menacing look. Good work guys!

I’m not to crazy so far. The sword looks like it’s out of proportion to the rest of the mini. My wife bought the Warhost for me for Christmas and I’m very satisfied with it. Keep up the good work. I look forword to buying and painting the undead.

I like the look of it…. but I must say it looks very… templar-ish, I think its the helmet style. Maybe its the ingrained idea that elves are more a Corinthian helmet type

But I like it. Look great, I’ll be buying em when they come out.

Not so struck on this one – I think it’s the weapon which looks “clumsy” – of course it’s a WIP so that could all change or it could be the angle of the photo – more pics please :)

  8. I like it! Might not look that “elfish”, but as a warrior in plate armour it is a cool model.

I just found this range recently, and i really like the look of the models. I agree with Ken and Simon on this one though, the sword does look a tad fat and clumsy, especially compared to the rest of the range. I’d still probably buy it though…

    Nice Mini so far :)

as mentioned, the weapon seems to be way too big etc, but that might change.

Sword is too big for the miniature, out of proportion and cartoonish. However, the action/movement of the mini is good. If not for the gigantic sword, I would think about purchasing the mini.
