Painted Orcs!

Hi Guys,

You may have seen Beasts of War has featured our 3-up painted Orc.

We are really pleased with how he has come out, Golem Painting Studios have excelled themselves once again, we asked them to come up with a suitable colour scheme and we feel that they have created a great concept piece.

To celebrate we are going to start putting the Orcs up for advanced order this month, starting with the Orc Warriors!

I love it! It’s one of those things I think. The love will grow – like fungi spores…

+1 for the cheeky Goblin! (or is it a baby Orc?)

I’ve liked this mini ever since I saw the early wip pics of the green. That paintjob really suits the figure. Well done.

I think the face is fine, it looks like an Orc. Very pleased this is the direction Mantic decided to go with these mini’s.

Huzza! Love the Orcs (and little one)! And the best part is: It’s no (insert company here) orc! It looks brutal, like a big bad warrior from the far north, coming to cick some asses.

  15. I pretty much like the upper body, but the legs aren’t massive enough for my taste, plus the cloth covering his butt look just badly sculpted.

With a green-stuffed mane covering the gaps around his shoulders and in the neck area this might be quite the cool Orc (very World of WarCraft-ish).

Much better than the Khaos Dwarves for sure.

Just when that other company was tempting me with their Orcs, Mantic grabs me right back. I think the orc looks great and like all Mantics miniatures its unique and not a photo-copy of someone elses work.
Now If we could only convince them to throw another sprue onto the allready low priced Warrior bundle, allowing ust to field three complete detachments and a regiment. If not Im sure I can find something to do with those two extra orcs.

  20. I think it’s nice to see an orc without the GW “skull face”.

I do hope the different orcs have different heads and expressions though. GW plastics look like they’re a bunch of clones, which I find a bit boring.

Guys first of all i must say i LOVE mantic, its getting popular hear in Poland, love yours undead range and the dwarfs also.
First thought about dwarfs…bleee dont like them – i was looking at the picture.
But when we get a starter box for kings of war to our local gaming store in krakow – it was WOW! love them!
We even did a Kings Of War game show in one of gaming conventions :)
People loved the miniatures and the game…but im geting to the point now…
GUYS CHANGE THE PAINTING STUDIO!!! THEY DON`T KNOW HOW TO PAINT!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are ruing your miniatures!!!!!
The orc looks like retired, i dont wanna say a world about that litle twisted retired thing…
Go to CMOR and look for your miniatures and compeer. your Cav from “painting studio” comper to others people cav…
    CHANGE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t think so. The paint jobs from Golem are quit good. And remember, wheter the dwarfes nor the elves were painted by them. The Orcs and abyssial dwarfes looks realy good.

I have been waiting for these for so long! There have been no orcs out there I like that much until this! Reaper produced some nice character type orcs but, nothing that would be Army sized material!

But these are awesome! Have no doubt I will be purchasing many of these! It is truly unique, the paint job is fantastic, the composure of the orc, the look!

I can’t wait for this army to come out!!

I love the body and proportions and design, complex and mature. But the head just looks dulled and ‘dumb’ in both senses. The face doesn’t show any raw aggression and actually looks too human. I hope there is a selection of differently designed, superior heads to go with these models. I think that head is too narrow also. That paint job is good I feel.

I really like this orc. I want to see more. I’ve been waiting for these for a long time… I like your undead plastics, but they’re not an army I play/am interested in.

I like the new Abyssal Dwarf characters too.

I think it’s probably one of the most charecterful faces that I’ve ever seen for an Orc. Small eyes make them look too cunnin’ – something which I think doesn’t sit right with the classic “stoopid” archetype.

  28. Urgok

Nice new take on the orc race! I think he looks great, including the bulbous eyes. I would love to see some with helmets too!

  29. Biskup

To be honest the face looks really cool – a bit like a wild cat. Can’t wait to see the sprue and size comparison.

Hi, i like the model over all and look forward to seeing more of these guys, thinking on it black orcs will be interesting to see done by you lot.
Only thing im not all too keen on about this model is the length of the neck :/. Its a bit too long and skinny, with a farely small head in comparison to the size and weight of its shoulders. Just my thoughts. And, for a pet i would love to see alternatives for the unmentionable companies squigs.
I think mantic could do some great looking critters with the way you do characterfull faces. And they would be great as a plastic set!
    Regards, Jack.
